1. She was born Gwen Renée Stefani on October 3, 1969, in Fullerton, California, and grew up in nearby Anaheim.
2. At home, she listened to folk music and artists such as Bob Dylan and Emmylou Harris. Her older brother, Eric Stefani, later introduced her to British ska bands including "Madness" and "The Selecter".
