Armored Saint - Punching the Sky

A Sneak Peek...

The band that was among the leaders of the heavy metal scene in the USA in the early 80's releases on the 23rd of October 2020 its 8th album - "Punching the Sky".

This is the band's first album in 5 years, since "Win Hands Down" which was released in 2015.

The band is still led by singer John Bush, who was also a member of "Anthrax" for a short time and was invited at the time by James Hetfield to be the lead singer of "Metallica", but refused.

The lineup on the album includes longtime friends bassist Joey Vera, drummer Gonzo Sandoval and guitarists Jeff Duncan and Phil Sandoval.

Bush noted that the spirit of guitarist Dave Prichard, who passed away in 1990 from leukemia, lines the album.

In August 2020, the band released the first single from the album "End of the Attention Span", a classic metal song with nervous riffs and angry vocals by Bush, which definitely proved that there is something to expect from this veteran and experienced group.

In September 2020 we got to know the second single with the Irish opening whose title is a statement of intentions and its lyrics also include the title of the album name.

From the initial listening, it seems that this is the band's best album in three decades and that there are no downfalls here. Bush's voice has even improved over the years and the band sounds cohesive and tight as if five years have not passed since their last album.
