Metallica Was Born

The formidable and huge monster named Metallica was born on October 28, 1981, the day James Hetfield responded to an ad in the LA Recycler newspaper published by a guy named Lars Ulrich. The two began playing together, recruiting James friend and roommate Ron McGovney to play bass and guitarist Dave Mustaine. Ron Quintana, a friend of the band from the metal scene was the one who came up with the name.

They started playing in clubs around Los Angeles as they were opening act for other metal bands like "Saxon". After a few months, they recorded their first demo "No Life'Till Leather" which gained momentum like fire in a field of thorns in Los Angeles but mostly exploded in San Francisco, where the band moved immediately after its release. Not before they made bassist Cliff Burton leave his band "Trauma" and join "Metallica". Cliff Burton 1st Show with the band was on March 5, 1983. About a month later on April 11, 1983, Dave Mustaine was Fired From Metallica and was replaced by Kirk Hammet who Audition By Phone Call while sitting on the toilet. In 1986, after three masterful albums, Cliff died and was replaced by Jason Newsted who left the band after "Metallica's" meteoric breakthrough into the mainstream, and was replaced by Robert Trujillo in 2004.

"Metallica" has become one of the biggest bands in metal, if not the greatest !! Which to this day holds huge world tours, releases new albums, and maintains a huge marketing and logistics system.

"Metallica" holds a Guinness World Record as the only band in the world to play a concert on all seven of Earth's continents.
