Reignwolf 🎙️ Jordan Cook ★ The Great Machine ★ Barby ★ 9.7.22

What's the connection between two wolves meeting, a kid who played with Muddy Waters, and a very late recommendation for a Saturday-night show?

It feels like a secret that far too few people know about, and something you absolutely must not miss... I'm only kicking myself for not writing this sooner, so more people could discover this guitar phenomenon: garage, blues rock and fuzzzz on another level. If a great distorted riff ⚡ makes your heart tremble, if you connect with the rougher side of Jack White or "The Black Keys", or simply love gifted guitarists who give 💯% soul, sweat and rock 'n' roll onstage... you need to be at the Barby in a few hours, this Saturday night, July 9, 2022, to see Jordan Cook. He has always been the driving force, and sometimes stands entirely alone onstage as the one-man band "Reignwolf"🐺.
He has released one album under his own name, "Seven Deadly Sins" (2010), and just one as "Reignwolf", "Hear Me Out" (2019), around three years ago. But a minute or two of Jordan working his magic✨ on YouTube is enough to understand where he concentrates his powers: onstage, going wild with that extra limb hanging from a strap around his neck and held in his hands, the guitar🎸.

It's amazing to watch him, and to read almost any reaction from someone who has witnessed Jordan's raw talent. The guitar really seems to be part of his body...
As a radio host who saw him put it, and as Jordan himself explains, he feels more comfortable holding a guitar than being without one. In the short interview here, Jordan, who has been playing around with guitars since he was about two👶, reveals that he played with the legendary Muddy Waters when the bluesman visited his hometown while he was still a child.
That talent hardly went unnoticed when he moved to Seattle, made his mark and even recorded with grunge giants🗿: Ben Shepherd of "Soundgarden", and past and present "Pearl Jam" drummers Matt Chamberlain and Matt Cameron. They recorded several songs early in the previous decade that have yet to see the light of day.
Recently, Jordan met another giant behind the drums🥁, the mighty Brad Wilk of "Rage Against the Machine", to film a very special jam session. More than six utterly crushing minutes, essential viewing... What musicians! They also recorded together.
Another remarkable thing about this session: look closely and you'll see that they're playing instruments made from recycled cardboard🪓! The video's description includes two short links showing how these wonderful instruments were made.
The amazing session:
Since we're already talking about wood products, Wilk, whose surname means "wolf" in Polish, also guests on Jordan's excellent new single, 🌳"The Woods".
The animated video is delightfully psychedelic, starring two wolves trying to escape the forest. Watch it here:
On the day the latest single came out, about two weeks ago, I also caught part of a performance streamed live from Freak Valley Festival... Jaw firmly on the floor!😮 Unfortunately, it's no longer available to watch.
The show was part of his European tour, which apparently ends today at the Barby. According to the tour poster, the final date was in Spain two days ago. Wonder why we're not on there?!
Yes, this is short notice, but it would be a shame to miss it.
A bonus for early arrivals: our own mighty "The Great Machine" will be opening!💥
And hats off to "Yellow Brick" for bringing us another winner, part of the impressive lineup they're letting us experience this summer!🤘
