Exodus - Persona Non Grata

"Persona Non Grata", "Exodus" 11th studio album, was released on November 19, 2021.

This is their first studio album since 2014 "Blood In, Blood Out" which included a guest appearance by founding guitarist Kirk Hammett, and their second with vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza since returning to the band that year.

Work on the album began back in 2016 right at the end of the tour to promote the album "Blood In, Blood Out", but the writing and recordings were delayed due to schedule issues and the commitments of guitarist Gary Holt who joined "Slayer". Following the "Slayer" farewell tour and dissolution in 2019, Gary Holt was able to resume the intense work and recordings of "Persona Non Grata" more vigorously, and these took place in September-October 2020, when the album was fully completed in January 2021.

The album was supposed to be released in the summer of 2021, but its release was postponed to November, due to the illness of drummer Tom Hunting.

It is interesting to note that the album also includes guest appearances by the band's former guitarist Rick Hunolt in the guitar solo on the song "Lunatic-Liar-Lord" as well as a guest appearance by singer Chuck Billy on the theme song.
